The current $1,000 price for heads is way too high. I use heads for decoration. So to decorate my tree I've been building would drain all the money I paid real world dollars for. Heads should not be more than $100. In theory, the /heads command should be reserved for Lunar, Saver ranks to use for free while other ranks pay $100. Consider putting a cool-down timer to prevent spamming the heads if that's the concern.
The prices of /heads is set purposely as an additional way to drain money out of the server economy. We know that people will want to use heads for bases, usually the richer players are more advanced into their base meaning they'd want heads causing them to purchase them, thus removing money from the economy. We must handle the servers economy with extreme care to prevent an inflated economy on Savercraft.
I may cut these prices by 20% lowering heads to 800 per, but 100 per which is a 90% cut is something I cannot do.
Prices will be adjusted as needed to keep our economy healthy. Thanks for the suggestion!
Will you answer some questions to help me understand your position?
-Why is there a need to “drain” money from the economy by overcharging for heads? What actual economic purpose is served? Can you give me an example?
- And how does reducing the price of heads to $100 “inflate the economy”, especially if you put a cool down on retrieving heads and remember they are purely decorative (serving no other useful or valuable function)?
The net result of keeping the heads high is not that it will drain money from the economy (for what purpose im not sure), but instead it will discourage good builders like me from using /heads. Which, right now I’m not going to use at their current price. Please reconsider this request as it would be beneficial to my builds. It’s relatively small compared to other requests I’ve seen accepted. Heads are purely cosmetic and serve no purpose but decoration.

We want to keep our server's economy balanced, players are drawn away from overly inflated economy servers, and heads are one of the very few ways to remove money from the server.

players are drawn away from overly inflated economy servers, we have experienced this in an older game mode of ours, and this is a way for us to try to prevent that.

This alone does not necessarily inflate the economy, but it makes it easier for the economy to be inflated as heads are one of the very few ways money gets funneled out of the economy and removed from the server.
I agree it is a bit steep and can draw people away, I will chat with my team about lowering it to the 250-350 per head range, hope this helps!
Thanks for clarifying your position. Rather than using heads to literally drain money out of the economy, I might recommend a tax system where the taxes that are collected are redistributed through a lottery that people pay for tickets to enter. Based on what you're saying, I'm concerned that you are confusing inflation--which is the systematic degradation of currency through poor economic policies--with an established server economy where players have millions through hard work and time (which might be intimidating for a new player who starts with nothing, but shouldn't be used against those players with it). Does that make sense?
Anyway, thanks for considering. The $250 price would be seriously better than the current $1000 price. I just want to use heads in my builds, but also don't want to lose all my hard earned cash in the process :)
I see what you mean. Our goal is to just make the server the best it can possibly, so we have changed the price to $500. We look forward to the possibility of lowering this again in the future, $500 seems like a high but alright price point as of now, may be lowered again in the future.
